Bequia United controls Arnos Vale Basketball championships

Bequia United registered a 60-51 win over Arnos Vale Heat Seekers One last Sunday night at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex, to retain the FLOW/KOSCAB/ Coreas Distribution Arnos Vale Basketball Club Invitational Championships.

Both teams got to the final, following semi-final wins on Saturday night.

Philbert Prescod – Overall MVP

Bequia United got past Union Island Tanty Ma 70-67 and Arnos Vale Heat Seekers One outplayed Mavrix 79-67.

Union Island Tanty Ma beat Mavrix 81-58, to cop the third place.

For topping the championships, Bequia United collected a trophy, a cake and $1,000 and second place Arnos Vale Heat Seekers One, got a trophy, a cake and $800.

Union Island Tanty Ma collected a trophy and a cake for their third place.

Union Island Majesty was adjudged the Most Disciplined Team and Arnos Vale Heat Seekers Two, the Most Improved Team.

Philbert Prescod of Arnos Vale Heat Seekers One was named the Overall Most Valuable Player.

A player from each of the eleven teams that contested the championships, was awarded his team’s Most Valuable Player.

This was the second edition of the championships, with the two top places remaining the same.
