Vincy Motorsports Club hosts Byera Hill Sprint
This past Sunday saw the village of Byera come to life with the first race event presented by the Vincy Motorsports Club, namely the Byera Hill Sprint. This 1.1KM uphill race saw 16 participants in 4 groups take to the road to race against the clock for valuable championship points.
Vincy Motorsports has begun their 2019 Drivers Rally Championship which will include a total of up to 10 events (including three regional races). Local drivers will register points for every event entered, and the leader at the end of the year will take home the title of Driver of the Year.
Aidon Shearman (Toyota Levin) won the 4WD Class with a fast 52.40 seconds
Sunday saw exciting high-speed action, as race fans were thrilled to see racing on the back roads of Byera once again. At the end of the day, the overall fastest time and winner of the 2WD Turbo Class was Charlie Thomas (Mitsubishi Colt) with a time of 52.30 seconds. The winner of the 4WD Class went to Aidon Shearman (Toyota Levin) clocking a fast 52.40 seconds. In the 2WD Normally Aspirated Class, Jason Toney drove a 55.3-second run in his Honda Civic. And to round off the winners, Ali Clouden took 1st place in the Open Modified Class, with a time of 55.00 driving his Mitsubishi Mirage.
