Titles decided in SVG junior squash open

Jayden George won the boys Under-11, Jaydon Williams, the boys Under-13, Darien Benn, the boys Under-19, and Jada Ross, the girls Under-19, when the St Vincent and the Grenadines Squash Association (SVGSA) SVG junior squash open championships concluded last Sunday.

The four winners were among the 14 who contested the championships which began on Thursday.

George, in his showdown with Dru Samuel in the title match, won 11-3, 11-1, 11-8.

Meanwhile, Williams, in his pouching of the Under-13, registered an 11-4, 11-3, 11-2 win over George.

Benn, a Barbadian, the only overseas entrant in the championships, then ousted Williams 11-3, 11-3, 11-4, as he took the boys Under-19.

And, Ross beat Nadira Morgan 11-1, 11-6, 11-4, to pouch the girls Under-19.

The local players will resume their training as they prepare for the National Junior Trials, set again for the National Squash Centre in Paul’s Avenue, March 15 and 16.
