Kimone Homer lashes century in women’s 40 –over cricket
Kimone Homer helped herself to 111 versus Jules Anthony Northern Girls in the SVG Cricket Association Inc. women’s 40-over cricket competition, at the Buccament Bay Playing Field.
Homer, the United Survivors’ captain, stroked 11 fours and six in the 108 balls she faced.
Samantha Lynch hit 6 fours in her 86 not out and Shevorne Clarke stroked 77, to see United Survivors to 292 for 2 in 35 overs.
Jozel Jack, with 24, was the lone double figures contributor, as Northern Girls were dismissed for 61.
Bowling for United Survivors, Allison Antoine took 3 for 14, Shema Wright, 3 for 20 and Shevorne Clarke, 2 for 4.
United Survivors won by 231 runs.
At Arnos Vale Two, also on Saturday, Attackers Girls beat Radcliffe Girls by 96 runs.
Sandra Samuel, with 59, Myshcia George, 34, and Nickish Douglas, 33, along with a healthy contribution of 82 extras, pushed Attackers Girls to 238 for 3 from 33 overs.
Radcliffe Girls in response, scored 142 all out, with Jemeica Hackshaw scoring 45.
Ivy Browne bagged 6 for 35, Jennifer Charles, 2 for 21 and Kayan Charles, 2 for 40.
Saturday’s other match, played at the Park Hill Playing Field, resulted in a nine-wicket win JG Tigress over Super Strikers.
Super Strikers were blasted out for 32. Rochelle John had four wickets for no run and Shaniza Daniel and Isha Williams, both took 2 for 7. Tigress replied with 33 for 1 in 2.1 overs.
The big clash on Saturday, pits the two unbeaten teams – JG Tigress and United Survivors, at the Stubbs Playing Field, with Super Strikers taking on Northern Girls at Arnos Vale Two.
