SVGTTA summons training squad

The technical committee of the SVG Table Tennis Association has called up 13 players to commence training for various national teams for overseas tournaments.

Leah Cumberbatch is one of two females in the training squad

Among those named are a host of young male players, including, Akeil De Roche, Caleb Howard, Juwan Howard, Andre Mitchell, Michel Creese, Mikel Hazelwood, Joshua Joseph and Deondre John.
Also named are two females, Leah Cumberbatch and Vedel Charles.

They would join three seasoned players, Damion Dublin, Romano Spencer and Kavir Gaymes, the bulk of the players selected, except Gaymes, will be under the guidance of coach Joseph Carrington at training sessions set for Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, at the West St George Secondary School.

Gaymes is currently studying in Barbados, but is actively involved in the sport there.

St Vincent and the Grenadines is expected to participate in the Panam qualifiers and the Caribbean championships.
