Mitres made it five-in-a-row in knock-out titles in division one of the FLOW National Netball Tournament, when they easily disposed of nemesis Metrocint General Insurance Maple, last Tuesday evening at the Kingstown Netball Centre.
Showing little resistance, Mitres had it all their own way, as Maple, which featured the club’s fringe players, crumbled.
Mitres established a five-goal lead at the end of the first quarter (14-9), and stamped their authority on the final, as they were 30-17 at the half-way mark.
Maintaining their 17-goals lead, Mitres kept Maple at bay, as the third quarter ended 43- 26. Mitres closed off the one-sided affair 61-43, to add their knock-out league title.
The tournament ended last, Thursday, July 26, with the staging of the division two knock-out final between North Leeward Starz and Nice Radio Clinchers.
The closing and presentation ceremony was also planned, immediately following the division two knock-out final.
