Police cricketers represent SVG in Windwards Tournament

Three members from the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF), where selected to play for the national cricket team in the 2018 Windward Island Cricket Tournament. Kenneth Dembar, PC 178, attached to the Fire Brigade, PC 857 Desron Malony, attached to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), and Darius Martin, attached to the Beat and Patrol, left the country with the team for St Lucia on Saturday, May 26, 2018.

On Sunday, May 27, the local team recorded its first win in the tournament when they defeated Grenada. PC Malony contributed a solid 47 runs with the bat, while PC Martin took two wickets for 43 runs and Dembar, 1 for 49.

The Commissioner of Police, on behalf the members of the RSVGPF and its Auxiliary, would like to congratulate the team on its first win and wishes them continued success throughout the tournament.
The Questelles Youth Club emerged victors in the Youth Affairs Anti-Crime Sports finals.

The finals took place last Saturday at the Arnos Vale Hard Court. Representing the Police Youth Clubs were Sandy Bay and Questelles Police Youth Clubs.

The Questelles Police Youth Club, which played splendidly throughout the tournament, emerged victoriously and received the first place award of $400, and a food hamper. Selicia Toby, of the Questelles Youth Club, captured the Best Player of the Tournament award, while Alexis Andrews of the same club, won a cake from Allen’s Bakery, for the youngest player in the tournament.
