Table Tennis Association apologizes for behaviour of players

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Table Tennis Association (SVGTTA) has issued an apology to the public and table tennis fraternity concerning the actions displayed by its members during the national table tennis championships 2018.

According to a statement from the SVGTTA: “We, the association, want to ensure all that the incident is being investigated and the players and umpire involved in the incident have been relieved of official SVGTTA duties until further notice.

“The SVGTTA will not condone the actions of individuals who affect the association in a negative way and who do not conform to the mandates set by the association, to guide us as individuals and as an organization.

“True Sportsmanship is an aspiration or ethos that a sport or activity will be enjoyed for its own sake, with proper consideration for fairness, ethics, respect, and a sense of fellowship with one’s competitors.”
