Year One DASGS Shooters still SVGCC basketball champs
Year One Division of Arts, Science and General Studies DASGS Shooters remained in charge of the Quickcashcorp SVG Community College Inter-Divisional Basketball title.
Shooters rebounded from an early loss to Year Two DASGS Pacers to take a place in the final, played last Friday afternoon at the Villa campus court.
Shooters led 21-12, 33-23 in the first and second quarters respectively, but Pacers, though, threatened in the third, to be led by Shooters by only one point, 44-43 at the end of the quarter.
The final quarter saw Shooters pulling out all the stops, to triumph 54-47.
MVP of the Year One DASGS Shooters and MVP of the tournament Lemus Christopher led the scoring with 24 points, with MVP of the final, Donis Daniel, adding 15.
For Pacers, Marcus Thomas poured in 23 points.
Prior to the final, in the third place play-off, Just Graduated Combined edged out Year One Division of Technical and Vocational Education Hornets 41-39.
Lennox Ince registered 20 points for Just Graduated Combined.
âIndividual awardees
Leyhmarr Campbell was awarded the MVP of Year One TVE Hornets, while Keyon Scott was the recipient for Year Two DTVE Ballers.
Meanwhile, Jaheim Campbell was the MVP of the BlueChip Basketball Academy and Marcus Thomas, for Year Two DASGS Pacers.â
Tevin Bynoe of Year Two DASGS Pacers was adjudged Best Defensive Player.
And, following last Fridayâs conclusion of the basketball tournament, the switch will be made to volleyball, which commences today, February 20, also at the Villa campus court.
