Damion Allen stars for Injectors in East Kingstown Softball Cricket

One of this country’s softball cricket kings, Damion Allen, batted and bowled his team Dr Thomas Injectors to another win in the East Kingstown Sports Association Softball Cricket Competition at the Grammar School Playing Field.

Facing Guidance last Sunday afternoon, Allen spanked 53 and along with Peter Richards’ 24 not out, helped Dr Thomas Injectors to 124 all out in 18.5 overs.

Bowling for Guidance, Eddie Mayers had 2 for 12 and Justin Samuel, 2 for 23.

Allen then misled Guidance’s batting, grabbing 5 for 13, as they folded for 80 in 18.5 overs. Husani Porter’s 22 was the lone batting spark for Guidance.

Also on Sunday, Alcoholics earned a four-run win over Snipers Reload.

Ronald Scott struck 30 not out, to lead Alcoholics to 69 for 5 from 10 overs, as the match was reduced. Saqulin Williams took 2 for 14.

Snipers Reloaded’s innings ended at 65 for 5 from their quota of 10 overs. Anthony John picked up 2 for 10.

Getting Sunday’s proceedings going were Double Click and Ottley Hall.

In a 15 overs per side affair, Double Click put together 106 for 7 from their allotted overs.

Kevin Vaughn top scored with 22, while Aswell John snared 3 for 17, bowling for Ottley Hall.

In reply, Ottley Hall could only get to 92 for 6 from their 15 overs, to lose by 14 runs.

Aswell John made 20, while Jeweth Vaughn had figures of 3 for 20 and Dewin Vaughn, 2 for 11.

On Saturday, Customs won by six wickets from Combined Rangers.

Batting first, Combined Rangers were dismissed for 61 in 11.5 overs. Leronzo Barbour took 2 for 2, bowling for Customs.

Taking 8.4 overs, Customs rushed to 64 for 4.

Saturday’s other match resulted in Just For the Fun gaining easy points from Buccament, who failed to show.

Another five matches are scheduled for this weekend.

On Saturday, from 12:30 p.m., Customs play Warriors and from 3 p.m., Vengeance face Bank of SVG All Starz.

Sunday, from 10 a.m., Richards Masters meet Snipers Reload and Snipers Reload take on Valley Stars from 12:30 p.m.

Valley Stars and Richards Masters engage each other from 3 p.m.
