Two centuries, bag of wickets in Premier Division cricket weekend

Two centuries and a 15-wicket match haul featured in last weekend’s Premier Division of the national cricket programme.

At the Sion Hill Playing Field, Hyron Shallow got the division’s century count going, smashing 16 fours and 4 sixes in his 124-ball innings of 136.

Shallow’s ton helped Team Rivals to 263 for 7 declared. In between, Deron Greaves collected 3 for 66.

Team Rivals was replying to Carl Joseph Law Chambers ASCO’s 169 all out. Deron Greaves was the main contributor with 82 and Nimron Daniel contributed 46.

In ASCO’s innings, Asif Hooper was responsible for all but one of the dismissals, as he snared 9 for 51 from 15.3 overs.

Hooper was again the dismantler of ASCO’s second visit to the crease, as he picked off 6 for 25, ending with 15 for 76. Olanzo Jackson took 2 for 36.

ASCO, trailing by 94 runs, fell for 91, as Team Rivals won by an innings and three runs.

Deron Greaves, as usual, put his hands up, scoring 35.

At Arnos Vale Two, defending champions Flow Radcliffe earned first innings honours over Guardian General Saints, in a drawn match.

Batting first, Saints got up to 216 all out; Rommel Currency scored 59, Rickford Walker, 52 and Keroy Roberts, 32. Both Currency and Walker struck 6 fours and one six, while Roberts’ knock contained 5 fours.

Dyke Cato and his protégé, Othneil Lewis, scalped 5 for 78 and 4 for 69, respectively.

Wayne Harper, with 100, Marcus Castello, 74, Richie Richards, 54 and Lindon James, 42, all added up to see Radcliffe to 338 for 8 declared. Harper dispatched 5 fours and 3 sixes, while Castello belted 9 fours and 4 sixes, with Richards hitting 2 fours and 5 sixes and James, 4 sixes.

Bowling for Saints, Rommel Currency had 3 for 73, Teron Simon, 2 for 35 and Ray Charles, 2 for 79.

Saints were 112 for 2, when the match was called off, with Rickford Walker hitting 8 fours and a six in his 53 and Seon Sween, 4 fours and 3 sixes in his 45.
