Findlay House wins Bethel High ‘night’ sports

Findlay House emerged champions of the Bethel High School annual athletics meet, which took place at the Victoria Park last Friday from afternoon into the evening.

Findlay amassed 808 points, with the male athletes tallying 364 and the females – 444.

Docking in second was Williams House – 726 points. Williams House’s total saw the males compiling 360 and the females – 366. Third place was copped by Jack House, with 670 points, made up of 377 by the males and 293 from the females. Anderson House brought up the cellar position with 489 points, comprising 250 – males and 239 – females.

The class champions were shared among three houses – Findlay, Williams and Jack.

Jerissa Slater of Findlay House was the class three female winner with 58 points, with Keron Fergusson of Jack House, the male champion, with 35 points.

Winning the class two title for females was Indira Cadore of Findlay House, who put together 58 individual points.

Meanwhile, Zareth Moses of Williams House, with 35 points, captured the class two male component.

And, class one champ female was Natalie John of Williams House, who gained 38 points, while the Jack House duo of Kenton Scott and Brad Slater were inseparable, as both collected 44 points.

This is the third year that the Bethel High School has staged its inter-house meet going into the evening, thus harbouring the label “night sports”.

Reports are that the Barrouallie Secondary will be the next institution to follow suit. (RT)
