Outa Trouble take Calliaqua Softball Cricket title too

Country Meets Town Outa Trouble took the Derrick Construction/ W and J Construction Calliaqua Competition with an uncomplicated eight-wicket win over Dr Thomas Injectors last Sunday at the Calliaqua Playing Field.

Batting first, Injectors had six run-outs, to be dismissed for 45 in 16.2 overs. Extras – 24, had the healthiest contribution to Injectors’ total.

In reply, Outa Trouble got to 49 for 2 from 14.2 overs. Westrick Straugh smashed three sixes in his 19 not out, as his team took the title with some ease.

Before reaching last Sunday’s final, Outa Trouble had beaten Glen United and Dr Thomas Injectors had overcome CGM Gallagher Novice, in the semi-final match-ups.

Outa Trouble also copped the Police Co-operative Credit Union’s Clinchers Competition, which ended last July.

Winners and other awardees of the Calliaqua competition will await a date and venue from organizers for the presentation of prizes.(RT)
