SVG Community College unbeaten on Carriacou tour

The SVG Community College team has been victorious in the two matches they’ve played so far on their tour of Carriacou and they will be looking to sweep clean in their three-match series there.

The college outfit had an impressive 3-1 win over Uprising Youths on Sunday, after beating Hotel Laurena All Stars on Saturday. In Sunday’s triumph, the college went ahead in the 20th minute from a simple tap in by Najima Burgin, after what reports say was some excellent individual work by Aron Cupid.

Uprising Youths equalized in the 30th minute from a 30-yard strike from Ricky Alexander.

Kewon Clarke, however, regained the lead two minutes later for the college unit, after an assist by Jowan Sawyers.

Clarke then turned provider for Gidron Francis, who made no mistake in increasing the lead to 3-1 in the 40th.

That score line was maintained up to the final whistle.

The SVG Community College in their first match on Saturday got a one-nil win over Hotel Laurena All Stars.

Javal Samuel converted a 73rd minute penalty, after Jowan Sawyers was brought down in the 18-yards box.

The SVG Community College will engage Hill Top Ballers today, Tuesday, in their final encounter, hoping to make it three out of three.

The touring college team is set to return to St Vincent and the Grenadines on Wednesday.
