Grenadian field events coach returns
Top Grenadian field events coach – Paul Phillip is back in St Vincent and the Grenadines to conduct another workshop.
Phillip, who was here in September, will begin his stint today, December 13.
On the first three days, Phillips is set to lend his expertise in the shot putt and discus to athletes at the Grammar School Playing Field, the Layou Playing Field, the Petit Bordel Playing Field and at Sandy Bay.{{more}}
From December 17 to 21, Phillip will conduct his sessions at the Arnos Vale Playing Field and Grammar School Playing Field, where the javelin event will be added to his agenda.
This period is assigned for advanced training for athletes and coaches who have been identified from the three previous daysâ instruction.
According to a release from Team Athletics SVG, Phillip is eager to follow up on talents he sighted on his last visit.
âHe was personally impressed with a number of the young athletes that he was able to observe at his sessions…. Based on his recommendations TASVG saw it necessary to have him conduct further training to those athletes he had identified,â TASVGâs release stated.
âTASVG is asking coaches and athletes to take note of the venues Coach Phillips will be visiting and is extending an open invitation to all interested coaches and athletes to participate in the sessions,â the release added.
Phillips first undertook a similar exercise in St Vincent and the Grenadines in February 2014.(RT)
