Veira, who died last June, was the person credited with the crafting of Team Rivals into one of the most consistent cricket units here for the past two decades.
Veira, the financier, manager et al of Team Rivals, moulded the likes of Cameron Cuffy, Deighton Butler and Kesrick Williams, all of whom represented the West Indies in either test, ODI or the Twenty/20 format.
Apart from his contribution to the club, Veira served on the executive of the SVGCA Inc, as national team manager and national selector.
Meanwhile, Coombs was recognized for her over two decades of service as administrative secretary of the Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control and her contribution to the Friends of Womenâs Cricket organization.
And, in the case of John, his honour was for his longevity of service to local and regional cricket organizations.
John served the SVGCA from 1969 to 2006, as well as the Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control, from 1978 to 2005.
He has also held the post of president of the SVGCA from 1988 to 2005 and was the Windwards Board president from 1991 to 2007.
At the wider West Indies level, John served on the regional board from 1983 to 2007.
He also was the manager of the West Indies Under-15 team to the World Cup in England in 2000 and chair of the WICB disciplinary committee from 2000 to 2005.
John currently holds the position of chief executive officer of the Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control.(RT)
