Quarter-finals line-up in SVG Masters’ Cricket known

The eight outfits which have made it to the quarter-finals stage of the SVG Masters Twenty/20 Cricket Competition have been decided and their pairing known.{{more}}

Top finisher in Zone A, North East will meet Sion Hill, with first place in Zone B – Mustique, taking on fourth place in Zone A – JG and Sons Glamorgan.

Meanwhile, second place in Zone A – St Vincent Co-operative Bank Ptani meet third place in Zone B – Computec Belfongo, with Zone B’s runner-up and defending champions – RSVG Police engaging Zone A’s third place – Stanley Browne’s Stubbs.

The points standings in Zone A saw North East tallying 22 points, while both Ptani and Stubbs ended with 20; however, Ptani had a better run rate, that of 1.14 to Stubbs’ 0.62.

Glamorgan completed the qualifiers from the zone, as they gained 14 points.

Zone B saw newcomers Mustique topping the table with 24 points; RSVG Police – 20, Belfongo – 16 and Sion Hill – 14. Sion Hill, though, got by Coreas Hazells Inc North Leeward, who also had 14 points. Sion Hill’s advancement was by way of a super run rate, 1.18 to 0.48.

The pairings were confirmed following last weekend’s scheduled matches which were abandoned and the points shared.

Two quarter-final games will be played this weekend and the others on Saturday, November 26.

Sunday, November 27 is the date slated for the semis and Sunday, December 4, set aside for the final.

The venues for these fixtures have not been confirmed by the organizers.(RT)
