Anderson, who was 84 at the time of his death, was the last survivor of the three-member team to the games, which has since been renamed the Commonwealth Games.
The two other members included quarter miler Owen âSapâ Coombs and Goff Roberts, who specialized in the high jump, long jump and the pole vault.
A sprinter in his heyday, Anderson was a standout athlete at the St Vincent Grammar School in the early 1950s, copping three Victor Ludorum titles while at that institution.
He and Grenadian Hugh Bain were said to be the dominant sprinters in the Windward Islands at the time.(RT)
