SVGCA Inc defers naming of Development Officer

The executive of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association Inc (SVGCA), despite having already made the selection of someone to fill its development officer post, will defer the announcement of the successful applicant until early December.{{more}}

The person was set to be made known today, November 1; however, a decision was taken to defer.

President of the SVGCA Inc Kishore Shallow explained to SEARCHLIGHT, last Saturday, the reason behind the deferment.

“The selection has been made, but we think it was just wise to make it public following the December 3, Annual General Meeting (AGM),” Shallow said.

Part of the AGM will be the election of a new executive of the SVGCA Inc for the period 2016 to 2018.

Shallow exuded confidence that his team will have little difficulty in being re-elected, but cautioned that the withholding of the name of the development officer was being done in the unlikely event that persons voted to the contrary.

St Vincent and the Grenadines was in the enviable position of having Irvin Warrican as a full time development officer, as well as territorial development officer.

Reports are that Warrican, Cleton Burnett and Alston Bobb are the front runners for the post.

When formally appointed, the development officer will have the responsibility to coordinate and supervise all activities related to the various development programmes under the supervision of the executive of the SVGCA Inc.(RT)
