Circumstance win in North Leeward Cricket
Defending champions of the Vinlec North Leeward 20/20 Cricket Competition Circumstance were among winners, when four matches were played last weekend at the Petit Bordel Playing Field.
Circumstanceâs triumph came on Saturday, when they defeated Carlos James Troumaca Starlight by 89 runs.{{more}}
Circumstance, on the back of Rickford Walkerâs 73 and Desron Maloneyâs 71, posted 229 for 5 off 17 overs. They shared an opening partnership of 160.
In reply, Troumaca Starlight spilled for140 for 9 from their corresponding 17 overs. Kentish John scored 27 and Ronique Samuel, 25, while Kesroy Debique took 3 for 38 and Christopher Trumpet 2 for 37, bowling for Circumstance.
Also winning on Saturday were Ajuba, who had a nine-wicket win over Ruddyâs Electrical.
Ronaldo Franklyn picked up 3 for 28, as Ruddyâs Electrical were dismissed for 110 in 18.2 overs.
Ajuba then rushed to 111 for 1 off 8.1 overs, as Kenny Stapleton stroked 52 and Hyron Shallow, 38 not out.
Sundayâs matches resulted in wins for RSVG Police and Upsetters over Rose Bank United and Ruddyâs Electrical, respectively.
RSVG Police got up to 179 for 7 off 16 overs, with Darrel Sam leading the way with 62; Kenroy Williams added 36.
Alex Harry took 3 for 33, bowling for Rose Bank United, whose response halted at 173 for 8 off the same 16 overs. Cyrus Prince contributed 73 with the bat, while Kenneth Dember grabbed 4 for 34, as RSVG Police won by six runs.
And, Upsetters defeated Ruddyâs Electrical by 130 runs. Upsetters tallied 259 for 8 off 20 overs. Agustus Cato â 90, Philron Lavia â 46 and Maxwell Edwards â 33, all made good contributions with the bat.
For Ruddyâs Electrical, Shaquille Browne had 3 for 44, Alain Williams, 2 for 34 and Chrisroy John, 2 for 41.
Ruddyâs Electrical could not cope with the bowling of Maxwell Edwards, who picked up 3 for 32, Kerry Isaacs, 2 for 9 and McLean Browne, 2 for 16, and were dismissed for 129 in 15 overs. Shaquille Browne was the bright spark for Ruddyâs Electrical, making 48.
Another four matches are carded for this weekend. Saturdayâs 10 a.m. match features Kishore Shallow Coulls Hill Rangers versus RSVG Police; then from 2 p.m., Ajuba play North Stars.
On Sunday, from 10 a.m., Summerset take on Upsetters and from 1 p.m. North Stars play Ruddyâs Electrical.(RT)
