Doyle said that FLOW supported him both mentally and financially during the 2016 tournament which ran from July 16 to 23.
According to Doyle, who lives at Lodge Village, this is his last year as a junior squash player and FLOW helped him to go to the tournament to represent St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).
Doyle has been playing Squash for nine years and when this tournament came around, he was having a few problems going to the Cayman Islands and then FLOW intervened.
âThey gave support morally and financially. I had a few problems with funds and if they didnât get involved I might not have been able to attend,â said Doyle who added, âthis was really good from FLOW and I would like to say thank you very much and I hope that FLOW is on board with me in the future.â
During the tournament, Doyle received a bye into the quarter finals of the competition where he defeated Christian Dube of the Cayman Islands in three straight sets, 11-1, 11-6, 11-3.
After defeating Christian, he moved on to face Benjamin Mekdeci of Guyana in the semi-finals. He won in three straight sets, 13-11, 11-8, 11-9.
In the finals Doyle faced Julian Jervis. Back in 2010 Doyle defeated Jervis to gain the Under 13 title but this time around, Jervis defeated Doyle in three straight set to gain the Under 19 title, 11-7, 11-5, 11-6.
He leaves the juniors category with a World junior ranking of 13. He is the highest junior world ranked player in the Caribbean.
A number of other Vincentians also played in the tournament. They are Kai Bentick, boys under-15 (2nd place); Mikal Quashies, boys under-17 (13 to 16 position), Giovanna Miller-Alexander, girls under-15 (13 to 16 position), Thandi Myers, girls under-19 (4th) and Deiriai Myers, girls under-19 (6th).
The National Lotteries Authority (NLA) was instrumental in making team SVGâs participation possible.
