Sharps win one, default one in North Leeward Cricket
Sharps United recorded a convincing four-wicket win over Rose Bank, but then defaulted their fixture against Peto Stars, as the Vinlec North Leeward T/20 Cricket Competition convened another round of matches last weekend at Petit Bordel Playing Field.{{more}}
Facing Rose Bank United on Saturday, Sharps United, chasing down 163 to win, reached that total for the loss of six wickets in 17.4 overs.
Leading the run chase was Edson Williams, who made 57 not out. Husani Porter and Winston Skinner both contributed 21. Bowling for Rose Bank United, Simon Jack hauled in 2 for 25.
In Rose Bank Unitedâs innings of 162 all out off 19.4 overs, William Edwards slammed 81 and Alex Harry 23.
Troy Prince 3 for 24, Husani Porter 3 for 37, Alfred Howe 2 for 32, were Sharps Unitedâs most successful bowlers.
However, Sharps United then hit a low, when they made a no-show versus Peto Stars on Sunday.
On Saturday, there was a big win for Big League over Ruddyâs Electrical.
Rudyâs Electrical scored 109 all out off 13 overs. Curtis Edwards top scored with 27.
Big League responded with 112 for 1 off 11.3 overs, to triumph by nine wickets. Shangi John made 38 not out, Omalie Lavia â 31 and Kuthberth Springer â 23.
And, on Sunday, North Stars did likewise to Summerset, to also win by nine wickets.
Summerset batted first and reached 108 for 8 off 15 overs, as the match was reduced because of rain; Nelson Williams â 29 and Bishon Williams â 22, were the main scorers.
Heading the bowling for North Stars were Javon Samuel, who had 2 for 9 and Wasim Browne 2 for 26.
North Stars responded well with 114 for 1 off 8 overs. Shem Browne was the main illuminator, as he slammed 62 not out and his brother, Dean Browne, 35 not out.
Another four matches are carded for this weekend at the same venue.
On Saturday, from 10 a.m., defending champions Circumstance face Carlos James Troumaca Starlight, then from 1 p.m., Ruddyâs Electrical take on Ajuba.
Sundayâs matches see Big League and Robertson Surveying Future Legends going head to head from 10 a.m., with Upsetters facing Rudyâs Electrical from 1 p.m.(RT)
