Three matches decided in Greiggs Softball Cricket

Amidst inclement weather on the weekend, the skies broke to enable three matches to be completed at the Greiggs Central Playing Field, in the Hairoun Brewery Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem Greiggs T/20 Softball Cricket Competition.{{more}}

In the end, trumping were Nice Radio Clinchers, CGM Gallagher Novice and Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem.

On Saturday, Clinchers sidestepped Rasfarco by 55 runs.

Desron Spring led Clinchers’ batting with 75 to see his team to 170 for 6 in 15 overs, as the match had to be reduced because of rain.

Ajit Duncan was Rasforco’s most successful bowler, taking 3/30.

In response, Rasfarco was dismissed for 116 in 13.1 overs. Ainsley Edwards top scored with 34, while Oheyon Toby took 3/12 and Desron Spring 2/20.

Also on Saturday, former winners of the competition Novice, overcame Roger’s Photo Studio Fyah One by 73 runs.

Novice posted 143 in 15 overs, propped up by Renrick Williams’ 58.

Bowling for Fyah One, Lestan Trimmingham took 2/23 and Dominique Durrant – 2/38.

Kenny Stapleton’s 43 was not enough, as Fyah One folded for 71 in 9 overs.

Norlan Williams had 3/8, to be Novice’s most successful bowler.

Sunday saw one of the three scheduled matches played, as rain was the deciding factor in the other two.

Reduced to 15 overs, Nar Fren Dem rallied to 110 for 7 from their allotment.

Curtis Olliver led Nar Fren Dem’s innings, making 32 not out and for Warriors, Manley Duncan picked up 2/35.

Warriors’ reply saw them reaching 76 for 9 in 15 overs, thus losing by 26 runs.

Keno Matthews – 3/13 and Rod Collins – 2/10, were the main wicket takers for Nar Fren Dem.

The other two matches which should have featured RSVG Police and Caeser’s Defenders and Combine Sixerz and Snipers Reload, were rained out and organizers plan to reset at another date.(RT)
