Dr Thomas Injectors topple Novice in TBPO Softball
Dr Thomas Injectors came away winners over one of the dominant forces in the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organizationâs 20/20 Softball Cricket Competition last Sunday at the Dauphine Playing Field.{{more}}
Affected by rain, power-house CGM Gallagher Novice reached 58 for 6 in 15 overs. Elton Williams made 19, while Damian Allen took 2 for 8.
Injectors then got to 59 for 6 in 11.4 overs, despite the bowling efforts of Norlan Williams â 3 for 17 and Sheldon Nanton, 2 for 8.
Also in winnersâ row on the weekend were Georgie Valley Saints, Nice Radio Clinchers and EZ Woods Toppers. Georgie Valley Saints won by 33 runs over Computec Older Boys in Saturdayâs lone fixture. Georgie Valley Saints registered 121 for 6 in 15 overs; Danroy Hazell clubbed 52 and Shem Da Silva, 20.
Bowling for Older Boys, Rohan King took 2 for 8.
Older Boys reached 88 all out in 12 overs; Urias King had the best effort with the bat, stroking 35.
Clinchers registered a three-wicket win over Gomea Bombers.
Batting first, Gomea Bombers got 74 for 6 in 12 overs, as the match was reduced because of rain. Raffique Sayers struck 35, while Reynold Quashie had 2 for 9.
Clinchers responded with 78 for 7 in 11.3 overs. Okeiph Andrews hit 18, but it was Ovando OâBrien who was the star of the show, as he bagged 6 for 17.
And, Toppersâ win over Stingers was by seven wickets.
Stingers got to 112 for 5 from 15 overs, as this match also saw a reduction in overs.
Kemron John – 37 and Vincent Cupid 25, were the main contributors.
Toppers, on the back of 71 not out from Joel Patterson, reached 113 for 3 in 13.5 overs.(RT)
