Batsman goes big in North Leeward Cricket Competition
Nigel Small hit 101 not out last Sunday at the Petit Bordel Playing Field to lead Rose Bank United to an eight-wicket win over Kishore Shallow Coulls Hill Rangers, as the Vinlec North Leeward 20/20 Cricket Competition continued.{{more}}
Smallâs ton saw his team getting to 168 for 2, in response to Coulls Hill Rangersâ 166 for 6 from their 20 overs. Small became the second centurion for the season, following Derron Greavesâ 134 not out for Circumstance versus Coulls Hill Rangers in the seasonâs opener.
In between Rose Bank Unitedâs comfortable win, Angus Cyrus was the lone wicket taker, snatching 2 for 48. Coulls Hill Rangersâ innings was led by Leon Quashie, who made 66, and Orlando Charles â 50. Quashie and Charles had an opening partnership of 122. Bowling for Rose Bank United, Dave Francois snared 3 for 21 and Alex Harry 2 for 23.
And, Robertson Surveying Future Legends defeated Summerset by four wickets.
Summerset â 143 all out off 15.1 overs; Rawdon Bentick made 31 and Jadiel Chance â 28.
Benniton Stapleton grabbed 4 for 44, Veonson Stapleton 3 for 27 and Amansford Richards 2 for 25.
Future Legendsâ response saw them posting 147 for 6 off 18.2 overs.
Benniton Stapleton â 43 and Elmore Robertson â 27, were the main run getters, as Nelson Williams picked off 3 for 22, bowling for Summerset.
Last Saturdayâs scheduled matches were postponed as a mark of respect for the funeral of the late Leopold Anthony.
The tournament continues this weekend with four matches.
On Saturday, from 10 a.m., Sharps United play Rose Bank United and from 2 p.m., Ruddyâs Electrical take on Big League.
Sundayâs fixtures see Summerset opposing North Stars from 10 a.m., then from 2 p.m., Peto Stars face off with Sharps United.(RT)
