MCSVG to host pre-independence Motorsports Culture Fest

The Vincy Motorsports Club of St Vincent and the Grenadines will host four days of multi-disciplinary activity as part of the 2016 Independence celebration.{{more}}

The event, dubbed 2016 Motorsports Culture Fest, will take place from October 23 to 26. According to the organizers, they hope the event can become an annual part of the Vincy calendar and a highlight of regional tourism visits for SVG.

A release from Vincy Motorsports said over the four days, there will be motorsports, basketball and rugby, the offering of local crafts and local foods for sale, and performances of traditional and popular music and dance.

The SVG Motorcycle Club, Kart Club SVG, SVG Rugby Union and SVG Basketball Federation have been invited to be part of this inaugural festival. The Association of Music Professionals (AMP) will also play an integral part in this event, the release said.

The objectives of the festival include: building awareness of our cultures in the Caribbean; lifting our appreciation of independence; developing an appreciation for the various sports; and generation of regional tourism through encouraging visitors to come to our independence celebrations.
