Black Sands Swim Squad flows with Invitational Swim Championships
The Black Sands Swim Squad (BSSS) amassed 1,278 points to be crowned champions of the Flow Invitational Swim Championships, which took place last weekend at the Shrewsbury Aquatic Centre at Ratho Mill.
Docking in second were Blue Marlins â 772 points and third, the Bequia United Swim Club â 401.{{more}}
The championships which were contested on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, had participation from clubs from Grenada, Barbados, St Lucia and Tobago, while there were some unattached swimmers.
BSSS, in taking the overall title, captured several of the age categories, through Paige Cadogan, Shane Cadogan, Nikolas Sylvester and Shne Joachim.
Paige Cadogan trumped the Girls 11 to 12, while her brother was the winner in the Boysâ 13 to 14 age group.
Sylvester took the Menâs 15 and over and Joachim, the Womenâs 15 and over. The two copped the sprint champions titles as well for swimmers 13 years and over.
The lower age groups resulted in Blue Marlinsâ Tyler Matthias winning the Girls 6 and under and if the Boys 6 and under, Cain Edwards of Pirates Swim Club, Barbados, was the champion.
Blue Marlins were also in winnerâs row in the 7 to 8 age group, as Kennice Greene was declared winner of the Girls and Brandon George, the Boys champ. Both were also the sprint champions in that age segment.
Winning the Girls age 9 to 10 was Anaika Charles â Grenfins Swim Club, Grenada and Tristan Ballah â Blue Marlins, the Boys champion.
And, Charles added the sprint champion title to her awards.(RT)
