United Survivors cop Greiggs Women’s Softball title
United Survivors Cricket Club are the new holders of the 2016 Hairoun Brewery, Sea Operations SVG, Nar Fren Dem Greiggs Womenâs 10/10 Softball Cricket title.
They achieved this when they defeated Bruce Law Chambers Nar Fren Dem in the final played at the Greiggs Central Playing Field, August 7.{{more}}
Home team Nar Fren Dem had batted first and made 66 for 8 in their 10 overs. Their innings saw Sierra Baptiste top scoring with 22, while Michelle Sam took 2 for 9, bowling for United Survivors.
In a rush, United Survivors cantered to 67 for 2 in just 6.4 overs.
Cordel Jack stroked 39, as United Survivors won by eight wickets.
Jack carted off most of the awards. She was the player of the final, scored the most runs in the competition (218) and was the player of the competition, as she also took nine wickets.
Samantha Lynch, also of United Survivors, took the most wickets (13), while Sierra Baptiste of Nar Fren Dem was adjudged the most promising player. Baptiste scored 135 runs and took five wickets. Second placed Nar Fren Dem took the best dressed and most disciplined team awards, while Fancy Hard Knocks finished third.
With the womenâs 10/10 out of the way, it is now the turn of the menâs 20/20 competition.(RT)
