Another third for SVG in WISG

St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) again placed third in the multi-discipline CBN/Winlott Inc Windward Islands Schools Games (WISG), which concluded last Saturday in Grenada.

The Vincentians ended with 23 points, and were, according to the final standings, joint third place with Dominica.

Grenada banked a fifth straight lien on the games, while St Lucia finished second.

SVG, as expected, topped the male volleyball segment, but that was the lone title which came their way.

The next best finish was female volleyball, which docked second.

The disciplines of netball, football and male basketball all placed third, while track and field and female basketball were fourth.

Taking the Vincentians’ most valuable players awards were Khadija Williams – netball; Lesbert Jeffrey – football, Jonica Creese – female basketball, Marcus Thomas – male basketball, Jeffica Ferrary – female volleyball and Ronaldo Franklyn – male volleyball.

The 2017 edition of the games will be hosted by SVG.(RT)
