Dr Thomas Injectors make East Kingstown Softball final berth
Dr Thomas Injectors have made it to the final of the Ruddyâs Electrical East Kingstown Twenty/20 Softball Cricket Competition.
It took a Super Over last Sunday at the Grammar School Playing Field to separate their opponents from Just For the Fun.{{more}}
Batting first, Just For the Fun made 62 all out. Philroy Ashton and Wendell Corridon both had figures of 2 for 8 and Kezron Ashton took 2 for 10, bowling for Dr Thomas Injectors.
In reply, Injectors were also dismissed for 62. Bowling for Just For the Fun, Emmanuel Baptiste took 2 for 7; Jevorn Nero â 2 for 11 and Peter Richards â 2 for 20.
In the eliminator over, Injectors scored 9 without loss. Just For the Fun got to 1 for 2 from three balls.
Philroy Ashton bowled his team to the final, taking 2 for 1.
Injectors will meet the winner of the other semi- final, which will feature Bank of SVG All Stars and Rogerâs Photo Studio Fya One. This match takes place this Saturday from 2 p.m., also at the Grammar School Playing Field.
The final takes place on Sunday from 2 p.m. and will be preceded by the third place play-off between Just For the Fun and the loser of the All Stars versus Fya One encounter.
Meanwhile, as the competition nears completion, the race is also on for the top batsman and the top bowler.
In the hunt for the most runs are Fya Oneâs Roneke James, who is on 164 and Ron Adams of Bank of SVG All Stars â 130 runs.
In the bowling department, Injectorsâ Tex Franklyn lead the pack with 22 wickets, while his teammate Kezron Ashton sits on 18 and Fya Oneâs Keithlyn Williams â 16.(RT)
