Softball teams, cricketers get PCCU Clinchers rewards
Participating teams and individuals who excelled in the 2016 Police Co-operative Credit Union (PCCU) Clinchers Twenty/20 Softball Cricket Competition were presented with their rewards last Sunday at the Closing and Presentation Ceremony at the Richland Park Oval.{{more}}
Among the rewardees was We Comeback Street Fightersâ Ozzni Billingy, who, for the second year in succession, took the award as the leading run scorer in the tournament. He totalled 177 runs.
Shanley Lavia of Sion Hill Tallawahs with 28 wickets was the leading wicket-taker, with Asif Hooper the top all-rounder and Player of the Final.
Copping the Best Wicketkeeper accolade was Smashersâ Delano Woodley, while the Most Sixes Award went to Roderick John of RSVG Police. John cleared the boundary on 22 occasions.
Meanwhile, Carlos James of Country Meet Town Outa Trouble retained the title of Manager of the Tournament for second year running.
Taking the Most Promising Player award was Damar Williams, with Anthony Garrick the Best Umpire.
Smart Strikers picked up awards for the Most Disciplined Team and the Best Uniformed Team, while Best Banner went to Rogers Photo Studios Fya ONE.
President of the PCCU Junior Simmons revealed that his organization has spent in excess of $27,000 in sponsorship of the tournament over its past five hostings.(RT)
