Outa Trouble take second hold of Clinchers Softball Cricket title

Country Meet Town Outa Trouble won the 2016 SVG Police Co-operative Credit Union Clinchers T20 competition with a comprehensive 97-run victory over Sion Hill Tallawahs in the final last Sunday at the Richland Park Oval.{{more}}

Outa Trouble was led by player of the final Asif Hooper, who scored 40, as well as captain Javed Harry and Sunil Ambris, 20 each. Hooper, batting at number six, struck five sixes and one four.

Shanley Lavia took 4 for 31 and Shamic Roberts 3 for 26, bowling for Sion Hill Tallawahs.

Sion Hill Tallawahs caved in for 51. Irwin Williams got a top score of 20.

Richie Richards grabbed 4 for 12, Asif Hooper 2 for 6, Westrick Straugh 2 for 21 and Shimroy Primus 2 for 1, bowling for Outa Trouble.

In the third place play-off, which preceded Sunday’s final, Owia Young Strikers defeated Nice Radio Clinchers by 58 runs.

Owia Young Strikers scored 108 in 15 overs, with Kenford Collins making 37 and Denson Hoyte 24.

Oheyon Toby got 3 for 21, bowling for Nice Radio Clinchers, whose response stopped at 50 in 13.3 overs.

Denson Hoyte ensured victory for Owia Young Strikers, bagging 5 for 7.

Outa Trouble earned $2,000, Sion Hill Tallawahs – $1,500, Owia Young Strikers – $1,000, and Clinchers – $500.

Outa Trouble won the inaugural tournament in 2012, with Gairy’s Construction Simple Boyz – winners in 2013 and 2015 and CGM Gallagher Novice – the 2014 champions.(RT)
