“We have been assured by the authorities that the Victoria Park will be ready in time,” Otashie Spring told SEARCHLIGHT last Wednesday.

Spring, who heads the organizing committee and who is the first vice-president of the SVGFF, also informed that a site visit was to be made at the Victoria Park last Wednesday to ascertain its readiness.

When SEARCHLIGHT visited the host venue last Tuesday, several components of the infrastructure erected for the just concluded Carnival celebrations were still in place.

Spring said that he is confident that the tournament will go on as planned, as the alternative venues are being prepared for the hosting of the West Indies Under-19 Cricket Tournament.

A release from the SVGFF stated that Group Three will comprise Bermuda, Grenada, St Lucia and hosts St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).

Two matches each are scheduled for the Victoria Park on Wednesday, July 20, Friday, July 22 and Sunday, July 24, starting at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., respectively.

SVG open their campaign versus Grenada in Wednesday‘s second match, with St Lucia and Bermuda starting off the group.

On Friday, the Vincentians take on Bermuda in the second of the double headers. Before them Grenada and St Lucia battle each other.

Then on Sunday, SVG host St Lucia from 6:30 p.m., while Bermuda and Grenada play from 4 p.m.
