Kiddy Cricketers told to ‘read more’
Students involved in the Scotia Bank Kiddy Cricket Programme have been specially challenged âto read moreâ.
Making this request was co-ordinator of the programme Stanley Hinds.
He was moved to make such recommendation following the open questioning segment of the final of the Kiddy Cricket quiz held recently.{{more}}
âThe quiz was made student friendly, but you need to read moreâ¦. Pay attention to what is around you and get your mental being going,â Hinds stated.
Prior to the open questioning, Hinds indicated that over the years, that segment proved to be most challenging to some participants, who were âmore comfortableâ with the multiple choice format.
Hinds lauded the Layou Government School, which fielded two females in the final, in the persons of Jonya Samuel and Jonique Primus.
Samuel was adjudged the Most Outstanding Female quizzer and St Maryâs RCâs Luke Wilson â the Most Outstanding Male.
Wilson placed first overall in this yearâs Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA) and was a member of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Under-15 cricket team which participated in the 2016 Windward Islands tournament in Dominica in April.
The other individual award presented on the day of the quiz final went to Anthony Sargeant of the Paradise School of Bequia, who was voted as the Most Outstanding Teacher in the 2015-2016 Kiddy Cricket Programme.(RT)
