United too strong for Injectors in EK Softball Competition
United Two proved too resistant for Dr Thomas Injectors last Sunday at the Grammar School Playing Field, as the Ruddyâs Electrical East Kingstown Organization 20/20 softball cricket competition staged another round of matches.{{more}}
Led by Casmond Waltersâ 55 and Christopher Chance â 23, United Two scored 160 for 8 from their 20 overs. Tex Franklyn â 3 for 21 and Kesron Ashton â 2 for 33, bowling for Injectors.
In their run chase, Injectors stopped at 79 all out off 15.2 overs.
Also on Sunday, Buccament Bay and Snipers Reload both recorded triumphs over Young Stars.
In their first outing against Buccament Bay, Young Stars were dismissed for 62 in 15 .1 overs. Kelroy Warren had 3 for 15 and Lindon Neil â 2 for 10, bowling for Buccament Bay.
Calvert Cordice struck 41, as Buccament Bay rushed to 63 for 2 in 6.4 overs, to win by eight wickets.
Young Stars though, made a fight when they met Snipers Reload.
Batting first, Snipers Reload scored 105 for 9 from their 20 overs; Chrisslon Williams made 24.
Young Starsâ bowling saw Clarence Roberts snatching 4 for 32; Nehemiah Harry got 2 for 11 and Nico Bruce â 2 for 12.
Falling short by 13 runs, Young Stars were bowled out for 92 in 18 overs. Wasim Dembar had a top score of 27 not out and Wesley Bonadie â 24.
Andre Hunte engineered a hat-trick, ending with 3 for 6 and Chrisslon Williams had 2 for 23.
Also in winners row on Saturday were Customs and Smart Strikers.
Customs, on the back of Keon Breretonâs 50 and Raymond Maingotâs 32 not out, reached 156 for 7, from their 20 overs.
Rosalo Mc Kie took 4 for 22 and Cavalon Simonett â 3 for 24, bowling for Ottley Hall Warriors.
Troy Harry and Ronique Edwards, both had figures of 2 for 6, Calbert Springer â 2 for 8 and Ronique Harry â 2 for 17, as Ottley Hall Warriors crashed to 37 all out in 11. 5 overs.
And, it was an easy victory for Smart Strikers, who won by default from AIW Richards Masters.(RT)
