Out Ah Trouble reach Clinchers Softball semis again
Country meets Town Out Ah Trouble has made it to the semi-finals for another time in the business end of SVG Police Co-operative Credit Unionâs Clinchers Twenty/20 Softball Cricket Competition.
Out Ah Trouble, last yearâs losing finalist and inaugural winners of the competition in 2012, outdid Smashers by five wickets last Sunday at the Richland Park Oval.{{more}}
Smashers batted first and compiled 105 for 7 from their 20 overs. Junior Ashton was the linchpin of Smashersâ total, stroking 50 not out.
Bowling for Out Ah Trouble, Westrick Strough had figures of 3 for 5 from his four overs. Strough then scored 31 not out, to be the co-pilot of his teamâs response of 110 for 5. But it was Asif Hooper who was the first officer, scoring 32 not out.
Also on Sunday, fourth placed in last yearâs competition, Nice Radio Clinchers again advanced to the last four, downing Dr Thomas Injectors by 20 runs.
Clinchers batted first and scored 120 for 7 from 20 overs; Javar Caine made 27 and Curlan John â 23.
Philroy Ashton was Injectorsâ most successful bowler, taking 2 for 18.
When Injectors batted, they were choked by the bowling. Javar Caine took 2 for 15, Peter Richards â 2 for 20 and Oheyon Toby â 2 for 26, to make 100 for 9 from their 20 overs.
Kesran Ashton â 26 not out and Naffique Maloney â 20, were the main contributors in Injectorsâ total.
Saturdayâs set matches were rained out. They should have featured the heavyweights in 2013 and 2015 champions Gairyâs Construction Simple Boyz versus Owia Young Strikers and 2014 winners CGM Gallagher Novice against last yearâs third placed Sion Hill Tallawahs.(RT)
