SVGCC stay perfect in First Division Cricket
First-timers French Verandah St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC) recorded their fifth consecutive win last weekend and remain perfect in the 2016 National Lotteries Authority St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Associationâs 50-over Sunday League.{{more}}
The latest to feel the wrath of the schoolboys were Triumph United, who failed by 40 runs to get over the line last Sunday at the Arnos Vale One Playing Field.
Batting first the SVGCC recovered from 31 for 6 to reach 149 all out in 47.5 overs.
Kody Horne top scored with 51, while Tilron Harry contributed 36.
Travis Cumberbatch got 3 for 27, Keroy Roberts â 3 for 34 and Romel Jack â 2 for 18, bowling for Triumph United.
In reply, Triumph United were dismissed for 109 in 28.5 overs. Keroy Roberts led the way with 37 not out and Romel Jack scored 25.
Bowling for the SVGCC, Jeremy Haywood grabbed 4 for 20, while Renaldo Franklyn took 3 for 34.
The win by the SVG Community College moves them into the quarter-final stage of the competition, which is set for next Sunday.
The SVGCC lead Group B on 50 points, with Smashers also perfect in Group A, chalking up four wins in as many matches.(RT)
