While it will be the All Blacks’ first outing in this year’s competition, Town Sharks lost to Country Pirates, 25-30 in the opening salvo at the Calliaqua Playing Field, two Saturdays ago.

However, Country Pirates met a stumbling block in their second match on Saturday at the Petit Bordel Playing Field, coming face to face with Leeward Invaders.

The first half was dominated by the, Leeward Invaders, who scored four tries, with Leonard Matthews accounting for two and, Jovani Matthews and Godfrey Matthews, one apiece, as the score stood at 28-0.

It was not much different in the second period, as Jovani Matthews hit double tries, to increase the Invaders’ tally, while Giles Garraway registered a pair and Shane Samuel, one.

Leeward Invaders ran out 42-17 winners at the sound of the final whistle.

Jovani Matthews was the Player of the Match for Leeward Invaders, with Giles Garraway the recipient for Country Pirates.
