Injectors trump again in East Kingstown Softball Competition

Dr Thomas Injectors were again winners last Sunday, as the Ruddy’s Electrical East Kingstown Twenty/20 Softball Cricket Competition hosted another weekend of matches at the Grammar School Playing Field.{{more}}

The combined batting efforts of Ronnick Daniel, 67, Elroy Nanton, 30, and Tex Franklyn, 20, pushed Dr Thomas Injectors to 177 for 7 from their 20 overs.

Bowling for Richards Masters, Wayne Garraway took 2 for 16 and Cassius Welcome, 2 for 36.

In response, Richards Masters were dismissed for 70, as Kevin Edwards top scored with 21.

Tex Franklyn, 4 for 7; Kesron Ashton, 2 for 11 and Philroy Ashton, 2 for 19, bowled Injectors to a 107 triumph.

Also on Sunday, Buccament crushed Dipcom Road Warriors by 90 runs.

Conroy Jack, 57, and Reon Quashie, 49, were Buccament’s lead batsmen in Buccament’s total of 172 for 5 from their 20 overs.

Julian Davis grabbed 3 for 31, to be the Road Warriors’ most successful bowler.

Road Warriors, though, found the batting tough and were rolled over for 82; Shesford John made 22.

Buccament’s bowling was led by Uroy Simmons, 3 for 31, and Reon Quashie, 2 for 28.

Joining Sunday’s victorious bunch were Simple Touch, who registered a three-wicket win over United 2.

A hat-trick of wickets, 3 for 13, and Chris John, 2 for 3, conjured to send United 2 to 63 for 9 from 15 overs.

Simple Touch then got to 64 for 7 in 13.5 overs. Jevorn Seales picked off 4 for 9 and Raffie Williams, 2 for 12, in a losing cause for United 2.

And, Saturday’s lone match resulted in Rogers Photo Studio Fyah One overcoming Rate Yo Boys Challengers by five wickets.

Verrol Henry, 20, was the principal scorer in Challengers’ total of 61 all out. Their batting was undone by the bowling of Jerando Jardine, 4 for 18, and Keithlyn Williams, 3 for 10.

Fyah One’s response of 62 for 5, saw Irwin Williams contributing 23 and Lawrence Kydd took 2 for 5, bowling for Challengers.

Five matches are slated for decision this weekend.
