Female athletes given opportunity to advance holistic development

Female athletes in St Vincent and the Grenadines now have an excellent opportunity to advance their holistic development, through an initiative by the St Vincent and the Grenadines Olympic Committee (SVGOC) and Soroptimist International SVG (SISVG).{{more}}

The seven-week programme, dubbed ‘Empowering Our Female Athletes,’ was officially launched on Saturday, April 9 and targets female athletes that have the potential to represent St Vincent and the Grenadines at the regional and international levels.

The training, which will begin this Saturday, April 16, is intended to enhance communication skills, etiquette and protocol skills, as well as address health related issues. The sessions will be held on Saturdays at the Red Cross Headquarters, Kingstown.

The launch event heard from president of the SVGOC Trevor Bailey, general secretary of the National Olympic Committee Keith Joseph, and head of the organization’s academy Miriam Roache, who is also the SISVG’s president. Remarks were also given by René Baptiste and Gail Davis of SISVG.
