Teams, individuals receive awards for TASVG’s championships 2015
Teams and individual athletes who topped the various local championships staged by Team Athletics SVG in 2015 were last Saturday rewarded for their efforts.{{more}}
The occasion for their recompense came as the national track and field body hosted its annual awards ceremony at Frenches House, last Saturday.
The teamsâ awards list saw X-Ceed Sports Club winning the National Club Championships; Negative To Positive (N2P), which has since been renamed High Performance, trumping the National Juvenile Championships; with the St Vincent Grammar School and the Thomas Saunders Secondary School pouching the male and female divisions respectively of the Teams Championships.
And it was the IT-DAT Academy which claimed the National Relay Classic title.
Prizes were also awarded to the divisional winners in both the National Juvenile and National Club Championships. In the Juvenile Championships, N2Pâs Jakeim John was the Under-7 male champion and Anna Miller â the female winner.
The Under-9 division was pouched by N2P, through the efforts of Darson Joseph and Khiadre Lynch, who were the male and female champions respectively.
Taking the Under-11 male division was Zachery Durham of the Buccament Government School, with System Threeâs Almarie Providence the female top performer.
Tyreke Bushay of N2P champed the male Under-13 category and Grandiesha Cain of System Three â the female champion.
And, the Under-15 divisionâs winners were Rasheed Fontenella of the St Vincent Grammar School and Zamesha Myle, who on the day represented the Buccament Bay Government.
Fontenella was the male winner and Myle, the female champion.
Meanwhile, Javon Rawlins of X-Cel was the top male Under-16 athlete and the overall male champion, with Zamesha Myle of X-Ceed the recipient in the female segment of the National Club Championships.
Like the Under-16, it was X-Cel and X-Ceed which claimed the Under-18 individual accolades.
John Compton of X-Cel and Rownesha Spencer of X-Ceed were the top male and female athletes, respectively.
Taking the top male Under-20 title was X- Ceedâs Kailon Kirby, while IT-DATâs Sorenya Miller was the top female. Miller also took the overall most outstanding female athlete award.
Another IT-DAT athlete, Kimorie Shearman, headed up the male 20 and over category and there was a tie for the top female in the 20 and over segment, as both Shantal Rouse of IT-DAT and Chantel Legair of X-Ceed shared the honours.
