TASVG stages awards ceremony this Saturday
Under the theme: âTowards sustainable athletics in SVG,â Team Athletics SVG will this Saturday put the spotlight on those persons who in 2015, excelled in competitions and representations, under its banner.
The annual exercise, Team Athletics SVGâs recognition ceremony, takes place at Frenches House, starting at 2 p.m.{{more}}
Up for recognition are the Athlete of the Year, the Senior Male and Female Athlete of the Year, the Junior Male and Female Athlete of the Year.
The Calvert Woods award is again set aside for the Most Promising Athlete, with the Talent ID Athlete of the Year getting the Stuart âRudyâ Louie award.
The Club of the Year, the Technical Official of the Year and the Coach of the Year, are also set to be declared.
Also to be presented are the individual and team awards in last yearâs National Club Championships, the National Juvenile Championships, the Team Championships, the Kids In Athletics(KIA) and National Relay Classics.
Tomorrowâs ceremony coincides with the launch of âOn the road to Rioâ campaign.
This countryâs most decorated female athlete Kineke Alexander will be the featured speaker at the ceremony. Alexander has already qualified to compete in the womenâs 400m at this yearâs Olympics.(RT)
