A release from president of the SVGTA James Bascombe, obtained by SEARCHLIGHT, stated: “the sole purpose of this meeting will be to elect an executive to manage the affairs of tennis in St Vincent and the Grenadines.”

Bascombe’s letter was a direct response to a call by a “Tennis Group,” which, apart from demanding a meeting on April 2 at the National Tennis Centre venue, requested several financial records of the association, mainly the two ITF Junior Tourn-aments of 2014 and 2015.

However, Bascombe in writing to Janelle Humphrey, secretary of the “Tennis Group,” indicated: “I acknowledge receipt of your letter and note your concerns.”

The Tennis Group’s correspondence on their concerns about the affairs of the SVGTA, which was dated February 22, 2016, is the second to be sent to Bascombe in recent months.

A similar letter, signed by five persons with direct interest in the sport locally, on September 15, 2015, also wrote to Bascombe, asking him to convene a general meeting of the association.(RT)
