ScotiaBank gears up U-15 school cricketers

The participating schools in the inaugural Scotia Bank Junior Secondary Schools’ Under-15 Cricket Competition have a ready-made provision, that of the necessary cricket gear.{{more}}

The packages, each of which costs EC$5,000, include bats, pads, wicket-keeping gloves, helmets, boxes, mittens and gear bags and were presented last Monday at the Sion Hill Playing Field, just prior to the commencement of the St Vincent Grammar School versus Thomas Saunders encounter.

At the presentation ceremony, remarks were made by Stanley Hinds, co-ordinator of the secondary schools’ cricket competition, Kishore Shallow – president of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association Inc and Fitzaudy Wright, manager/country head of Scotia Bank.

Also present was Norman Cumberbatch of Scotia Bank, along with umpires Dillon Child, Eddie Williams and Selwyn Allen.

Contesting for honours in this the first ever undertaking are the St Vincent Grammar School, Petit Bordel Secondary, Dr JP Eustace Memorial, Thomas Saunders Secondary, the George Stephens Secondary and the Sandy Bay Secondary.(RT)
