Acknowledging that their opponents are “a strong team,” Jackson projected that they are not going to roll over, but “fight hard”.

Also cognisant that the Jamaicans would start as favourites, Jackson revealed that part of their game plan is to try and exert as much pressure as possible and hope for the visitors to make errors.

In doing some background checks and speaking to other coaches, Jackson related some of the possible weaknesses, which they are devising to exploit.

Relying on the athleticism of the Vincentian players, Jackson noted, “We have some good athletes, particularly in the forwards… We have some quick agile backs… “We have some strong-willed players, who have been working hard, so we anticipate we will give them a hard run for their money.”

Jackson is also hopeful that the blend of youth and experience in the Vincentian outfit will be the kind of opposition needed.

It is the first time that St Vincent and the Grenadines will get a chance to view the iconic trophy, which was scheduled to arrive last Wednesday night, when it was set for a tour to selected schools on the mainland.

Prior to the 2 p.m. kickoff, there will also be a women’s tag rugby showcase.

During the half-time, youths will have an opportunity to show off what they have been learning in schools.
