Thomas Saunders add to Troumaca’s woes in schools’ cricket
The Thomas Saunders Secondary handed defending champions of the United Insurance Massy Senior Cricket Competition Troumaca Secondary another defeat last Tuesday at the Sion Hill Playing Field.{{more}}
Shane Roberts hit 79 not out and Roshawn John, 28, piloted Thomas Saunders to 155 all out.
Bowling for Troumaca, Kesron Browne took 3 for 40 and Terano Samuel, 2 for 24.
In reply, Troumaca fell for 98, to lose by 57 runs. Only Kenolly Garrawayâs 21 was any score of note.
Troumacaâs innings was limited by the bowling of Gregory Wyllie, 6 for 12 and Shane Roberts, 2 for 25.
In their first match, Troumaca lost to the St Vincent Grammar School.
Also on Tuesday, Petit Bordel Secondary upstaged the Grammar School by 59 runs.
C-Klon Mc Kie top scored with 56 and with Jadiel Chance, 38, pushed Petit Bordel to 179 for 7 from their 30 overs. Bishon Jack took 2 for 41, bowling for the Grammar School.
Keon Edwards grabbed 4 for 18 and Jadiel Chance 2 for 20, as the Grammar School caved in at 120.
Leading the Grammar Schoolâs unsuccessful chase was Webster Roban, who made 32 and Colbert Bowens contributed 22.
And Georgetown Secondary registered a massive 236-run triumph over the North Union Secondary at Park Hill on Wednesday.
Othneil Lewis slammed 86 and Nimron Daniel, 47, as Georgetown posted 275 for 6 from their 30 overs.
Sachin James was the pick of North Unionâs bowlers, with 3 for 41.
Rasheed Frederick had the excellent figures of 8 for 4, as North Union Secondary was dismissed for 39.(RT)
