SVGS topple Troumaca in schools’ cricket
The St Vincent Grammar School handed defending Massy United Insurance secondary schoolsâ cricket champions Troumaca Ontario 90 runs last Wednesday at the Arnos Vale Two Playing Field.{{more}}
Javin Liverpool slammed eight fours and seven sixes in a knock of 104 not out, to record the first century in this yearâs competition. Liverpool and Reynoldson Hillocks â 63, powered the Grammar School to 254 for 7 from their 20 overs.
Troumaca, in response, were dismissed for 164. Terano Samuel top scored with 37.
Bowling for the Grammar School, Delano Simon took 3 for 16, Godwin Roban â 3 for 18 and Reynoldson Hillocks â 3 for 64.
Also last Wednesday, West St George blew away the St Martinâs Secondary by 10 wickets at the Sion Hill Playing Field.
Alex Samuel and Bradley Richards both picked up 5 for 10, as St Martinâs scored a mere 35.
West St George replied with 35 for no loss.
At the London Playing Field on Saturday, Georgetown Secondary registered a four-wicket win over Sandy Bay Secondary.
Twin brothers Sealroy Williams â 36 and Sealron Williams â 26 put Sandy Bay at 107.
Urnil Thomas was Georgetown Secondaryâs top bowler with 4 for 7. He then contributed 26 and along with Othneil Lewis â 35 not out, helped their school to 108 for 6.(RT)
