NLSA elects new executive… Anthony steps aside
Rayon Murray has taken over as president of the North Leeward Sports Association (NLSA), replacing Jules Anthony, who held the post uninterrupted for the past 16 years.{{more}}
Anthony, however, told SEARCHLIGHT that he will still be active, âlending support here and there as needs be.â
Murray was elected last Thursday night at the Petit Bordel Secondary School, defeating Kenville Horne, 15-2.
The vice-president is Nolan Allen, with Linson Keil as treasurer. Jodie Anthony will serve as secretary and Vannette Laborde â assistant secretary.
Dwight Roberts is the games secretary and Rolmina Matthews â the public relations officer.
Three committee members â Tamara Samuel, Dale Michael and Codrian Simmons were also elected.
The Murray led executive committee, which has a two-year life span, will select the various sub- committees to work along with the elected members.
The North Leeward Sports Associationâs main mandate is to organize and execute the sporting competitions in the area in cricket, football, netball, track and field and basketball, as well as the North Leeward Carnival festivities.
The NLSA is an affiliate of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation, the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association, Team Athletics SVG, the St Vincent and the Grenadines Netball Association and the St Vincent and the Grenadines Basketball Federation.(RT)
