âFor a long time, again we have been fighting hard to get an administrative centre; we have so farâ¦purchased an administrative centre.â
Coombs, however, did not disclose the location of the new administrative centre, but said it is a three-storey building from which the association could generate income.
âHaving that facility will save almost $5,000 in rent and having that facility will ensure an aspect of revenue intake where football is concerned,â he noted.
âThat is another part of advancement for football in this country; thatâs another reason for the footballers and members of the football community to be proud of. Indeed, the country should be proud of it,â Coombs boasted.
In keeping with his promise made during his campaign, Coombs noted that he had already written to FIFA regarding the development of the national Under-17 players.
âIf we are successful with this programmeâ¦they would send kits and all the equipment for the players.â
The kits are expected to benefit footballers throughout the length and breadth of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Coombs also said that there has already been approval for a C licence course for coaches.
The course is said to be âmore advanced than how it goes with the normal courses.â
The football association president also spoke about some of the upcoming tournaments that St Vincent would be hosting and participating in.
Firstly the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Under-15, which will be held in St Vincent from July 18 to 25; the CFU Under-15 female, again hosted by SVG and the Windward Islands female competition, which will be held in Dominica, are expected to begin in May. Additionally St Vincent and the Grenadines will be hosting the Windward Islands, male competition, set to commence in April.
St Vincent and the Grenadines is expected to participate in this yearâs DIGICEL Caribbean Cup as well.
