IT-DAT Academy to chase three straight in National Relay Classic
When Team Athletics SVG hosts its annual National Relay Classic from 9 a.m. this Saturday at the Victoria Park, the IT-DAT (Integrated Training to Develop Athletic Talent) Academy will be looking to earn a third straight hold on the title.{{more}}
Competition is expected in the age categories of Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, Under-18, Under-20 and 20 years and over, both males and females.
Athletes in the Under-11 segment will be limited to the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 metres, with the Under-13 adding the sprint relay, which consists of a distances of 200, 100, 100 and 400m, in that order.
Meanwhile, the Under-15, Under-18, Under- 20 and 20 and over age groups will do the 4 x 100, 4 x 200, 4 x 400, 4 x 800m as well as the sprint relay.
An open distance relay composed of 1200m, 800m, 400m and the 1600m anchor leg is also on Saturdayâs programme.
Team Athletics SVG has stipulated that participants competing in the Under-11 must be born 2006 and after, with the Under-13, 2004 and after.
To be eligible to run in the Under-15, athletes born 2002 and later qualify, while the Under-18 age group has the cut-off period as 1999 and later.
The Under-20 has been put at 1997 and later and the 20 and over â 1996 and earlier.
Fifty- four events are counted to be decided in tomorrowâs National Relay Classic.(RT)
